Chris Brokaw has collaborated with Evan Dando and The Lemonheads, Liz Phair and Thurston Moore. The two Americans are joined by Australian-born Hugo Race, the leader of True Spirit and one of the original members of The Bad Seeds. Eckman and Race were label mates and in 2006 they got together with Brokaw to form Dirtmusic. Dirtmusic’s first album, recorded in 2007 in Eckman’s adopted home city of Ljubljana, Slovenia, somehow got into the hands of the booker of Mali’s annual Festival of the Desert who invited them to perform.

Gilt auch als sehr anstrengend, finde ich aber gar nicht. Die Instrumentierung ist zwar teilweise surreal (Bläser! Sitar!), aber ein paar Sachen sind recht ruhig und eingängig.

Weiß nicht, was jeder hat, mir gefällt die mit jedem Hören besser ... auch, wenn sie längst nicht an alte Glanztaten heranreicht. Aber allemal besser als "Specter And The Feast".
